How to turn on/off browser directory listing

To turn on/off website directory listing from the control panel:
1) Login to your control panel at http://manage.ixwebhosting.com
2) Click "Manage" button under Hosting products
3) "Web options" big icon
4) "Edit" small icon
5) In "Settings" section change radio button for "Indexes" to Enabled (or Disable)
6) "Apply" in Server Configuration
7) Then check the directory after 5-10 minutes.

Copy and paste a .htaccess file containing the following text,
To turn on local directory listing: "Options +Indexes"
To default the page to index.php: "DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm "
